“My interest in glassblowing comes from the dynamic process of working with my hands. The basic tools and teamwork required give me opportunities to translate my ideas to the viewer from the unique perspective of my personal experience. Ideas I am trying to explore in my work are tradition, ecology, and spirituality. I am interested in how utilitarian objects can collect a variety of meanings over time.”

As a glassblower whose early work was primarily in flameworked borosilicate glass. His approach is to use traditional techniques to produce unique designs relevant in the modern world. “My goal is to bring awareness and understanding of the natural world into people's lives through handmade objects.
